Branding & Re-Branding
The first example of critical thinking and problem solving that I have demonstrated throughout my time in the Graphic Design program and afterwards, can be presented through branding/re-branding projects. When working on branding projects a creative has to be able to think critically about the corporate ideals, values and activities of the business they are creating the branding system for in order to meet all project objectives and deliver a brand identity system that fits with the business on a deeper level.
Storyboarding
The second example of critical thinking and problem solving skills that I have demonstrated would be creating storyboards for animations/motion graphics. This is an example of critical thinking and problem-solving because when an animator creates a storyboard they must first decide how many frames they will need to tell the required story within a certain time frame without losing any information or story in the process. This factor forces animators to think ahead in a critical way and decide how they can use the frames they have, in order to meet the requirements.
